Ginger P Designs is growing..

8 Mar

Growing? Yes, growing. Currently “Ginger P’s” belly is growing as we are expecting a new bundle of joy in August, AND COULD NOT BE MORE EXCITED! A few weeks ago I posted on my instagram our announcement, and wanted to share with y’all the same news, and more details here on my blog.

babeOf course I probably spent way too much time on making this little card, but I wanted it to be unique to us and of course be a design on paper 🙂 Anyways, I promise to keep this brief as I have learned that people who really care about your pregnancy and every little detail each week are the ones who are pregnant, and there are plenty of “mom” blogs out there for that, but I will answer the basic questions that seem to be interesting to even non-preggers people…

DUE DATE: August 16th (Exactly in between mine and Bjorn’s birthdays which is kinda fun!) Mine is July 27th and his is Sept. 11th- yes 9/11 I know, poor guy

SO HOW FAR ALONG ARE YOU RIGHT NOW? 17 WEEKS AS OF YESTERDAY (3/18/14) But here is the picture we took last weekend when I was exactly 16 weeks. Currently I am in that stage where if you didn’t know I was pregnant you would just think I like to eat doughnuts and drink lots of beer. It also depends on what I wear, in looser fitting tops you can’t even tell, but in a tighter shirt there is definitely a gut making an appearance! My pants do button, but it is so uncomfortable when they do… so sweatpants and leggings it is – everyday. But who am I kidding, this really isn’t that different from before haha.

16 WEEKS

WILL YOU FIND OUT THE GENDER?: No!! I LOVE surprises, and life doesn’t offer too many, so this was definitely a no-brainer for me, all my friends know that I have always wanted to keep the gender a surprise when this day would come.

HOW ARE YOU FEELING? Fantastic! And I have been feeling great since the day I found out, I know I am very lucky because the one or two mornings I did get sick I thought dang, some girls go through this every morning? That. would. suck. The first 14 weeks was nap city though, thank goodness I work from home 😉 Hats off to you gals who have jobs that don’t offer optional naps in the afternoon. Come 3:00pm and I could hardly keep my head upright…

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING FOR THE NURSERY? I love stripes, arrows and triangles. I am totally into “not so baby” colors.  Right now I am torn between two color palettes* (these are not THEMES haha) … can’t decide if I want to do more of a slate blue on the walls with mustard, mint, and brighter color accents/prints or if I want to do a stone color on the walls with more black/white, mustard, mint, gold. I think the bedding will make the decision for me. I am in love with these two etsy shops to get the bedding from Iviebaby and Modfox. Other than that, don’t worry I’m sure I will keep you updated.

HOW WILL IT AFFECT YOUR CUSTOMERS/BRIDES YOU ARE WORKING WITH FOR 2014? As of right now I plan to be off from the beginning of August until the end of September, but after that plan to work full time! I will be sure to remind customers of the upcoming time off, and the dates may be altered slightly as it gets closer, but it should only affect those who would like programs or day of items for their August/September weddings and possibly November/December weddings for their invites. But, as long as you are aware of my time away, we can plan ahead and get everything done and ordered before then!!

Oh and the baby it’s first pair of shoes from Aunt Krissy this past week, too cute not to share 🙂

Can’t wait for August and the new adventure this little one will bring us!!

Warming Hearts

26 Jan

Working in the wedding industry where the love is overflowing, it is no secret that Valentine’s Day is one of my favorite holidays… especially when I can use my favorite color hues all over the place and it doesn’t matter, pinks, corals, reds… if you were wondering.

Valentine’s Day often times gets mistaken for a holiday that focuses on “couples” and that isn’t necessarily the case. Here at Ginger P Designs we think everyone should celebrate it because who doesn’t love their parents, brothers/sisters, friends or pets!? It’s all about warming the hearts of special people in your life with a card, message, or giving them a “heart attack” <— let me explain by referencing our latest Ginger Mail mailing below 🙂

This past week another Ginger Mail mailing went out and so far I think it is my favorite… see for yourself! The theme was “warm hearts”

Falen + Paul’s Save the Dates!

26 Nov

We recently had the pleasure to work with Minnesota’s favorite radio star couple… Falen Bonsett, co-host of KDWB’s Dave Ryan in the Morning Show and Paul Lambert known to most as “Meatsauce” from KFAN‘s The Power Trip morning show, on their save the dates for the upcoming April wedding! As always our goal is to create custom stationery pieces that reflect a couple’s style and personality. With both of the host’s playful humor, Falen’s self-described style being “florals, pretty, soft colors and all things girly” and their very fun/amazing/creative engagement photos done by Brandon Werth this is what you get….

Christmas is coming!

17 Nov

I love turkey and being thankful just as much as you, but when it comes to CHRISTMAS — I get excited!! It is so tempting to put away the fall decor and pull out my boxes and boxes of Christmas stuff to see what I bought last year once it went on clearance 🙂

Anyways, my sis and I went shopping for our Holiday Hangout outfits this past weekend and found some treasures at Anthro and J.Crew.. weird right! I’ll save the outfit pics and details for a later post, but look at how adorable this felted clutch is?? Great gift idea for that “girl who has everything” I am going to put my 17 lip sticks and glosses that are all over my purse in it 🙂 You can take a look at the different colors/letters here.

Anthro ClutchOther than shopping, we have been busy fulfilling LOTS of save the date orders including this adorable couple’s… What better way to let your guests know when the big day is AND to send out Christmas cards. 2 birds, one stone.

Marry christmas

And here is the “original” … for more information on how to order, visit our etsy shop here.

Married Christmas

And I truly enjoy jazzing up the holiday package we have been sending out lately. Including lots of 2014 wedding invitation sample packs 🙂

Enjoy the fun holiday events and traditions to come!

Purple Ginger Mail

29 Oct

The most recent mailing of Ginger Mail went out and I just had to share the goodies with you! So far the response has been FLIPPIN AWESOME from all of our subscribers. Dana, a GINGER MAIL subscriber, was so kind to share with us her thoughts…

“Got my PURPLE package today. SO FUN!!!! Feels like CHRISTMAS when your package arrives. I’m not sure how such simple fun little things can make me absolutely GIDDY inside- but they sure do.”

Aww that just made my day. I always wonder if everyone is going to like the items we create for each mailing, knowing they trust you to pick out some treasures to enjoy and love.

This mailing’s theme was PURPLE! Since Ginger Mail just started in July, the past two themes were fresh and chalk.

Click on the picture below to read what everyone got and why we picked the purple theme.

Lindsey + Ned 09.14.13

16 Sep

About every 6 weeks I get to visit with Lindsey, one of my good friends from high school. And I never know what I am more excited for: getting my hair done or catching up with her? Lately our conversations have been focused on her wedding, and it is always so fun to hear about all of her (and Cat’s*) ideas.  *Catalina (Cat) Quast is also a dear friend from high school, her and Lindsey are BFF’s and Cat was her wedding planner/decorator for the big day. got that? haha

Lindsey emphasized a lot when chatting about the big day that she wanted an intimate ceremony with close friends/family AND she wanted it to reflect her and Ned’s personalities.  Well Lindz, I don’t think it could have been any more spot on!

09.14.13 was a beautiful day… with a fabulous couple… getting married…under a big ol’ oak tree… in the meadow…at their farm place.

And yes I got to design & print all the stationery 🙂 Was so much fun to create!

l+nGorgeous bride, coordinator and friends. Lindsey’s dress was her grandmother’s, and had her favorite saying from her grandma embroidered on the inside. A piece of Cat’s dress was also put into her dress as her fabric matched perfectly 🙂 I just love all these personalized details.

Did I mention that El Molino’s catered??? YUM!

Cat’s idea to have each of these cards on the tables to tell a little more about the couple. Yes their first kiss was before the first date…

l+n4Straight from the garden carrot, melt in your mouth chocolate, plain jane but yummy in your tummy vanilla and so good you could wear it red velvet were the cupcake choices.  The delicious desserts were all made by Cassie Meister’s mom 🙂 For those of you who know Lindsey, I’m sure you know Cassie. Cassie is Lindsey’s boss who is also amazing at hair + makeup, can sing, and her mom makes cupcakes. You really need to get to know Cassie…

lindsey and nedCONGRATULATIONS you two love birds! My muddy heels sitting by the front door, and the mason jar of flowers on our counter bring a smile to my face thinking how fun and perfect your day was.

Printable Chalk print

11 Sep

This month’s Ginger Mail went out and had the popular theme of “chalk”. Those lucky subscribers got a 5×7 print as one of the several stationery items to frame or put on their fridge as a unique and fun decor item.

So many have requested this item to be available to the public that I decided to make it a free printable! You can click the link here: ginger mail chalk print to download the 5×7 print. Enjoy!
