Can’t wait to be an auntie!

25 Oct

October 25th. That date has been circled and highlighted on my calendar since the day I found out my brother and sister-in-law were expecting!!! Today is the day, well today is the due date. I really don’t think today is going to be his or her birthday… and from what the messenger Jon (my bro) says sounds like the babe wants to hang out a little while longer in mom’s tummy! But that’s ok I am always late for events too so I feel like I already have something in common with the little peanut.

Pretty pic of the mommy to be

Speaking of little peanut – my mom, sister and I hosted a baby shower for the baby and Amanda (baby carrier). I LOVE surprises and so everyone knows that “someday” when I decide I can handle mom being one of my job titles I don’t want to find out the gender of the baby so I was thrilled when they said they weren’t finding out either. But, finding a theme for gender neutral baby showers can be a little more difficult. We decided to go with the theme of “Little Peanut”, and we had so much fun with it –  I leave the food decisions/prep/display up to my mom and sis which works out too well for everyone and then I work on the decorations and the invites…

Can’t have a peanut theme without a mom and baby elephant

The invite needed a belly band for baby 🙂

I can’t help myself with polka dots and stripes…

Also, as you can see in the picture above the “a little extra” card was for each guest to bring a book instead of a card that they thought the little peanut would enjoy!

As most girls do, we like our accessories so for the shower I made a banner that was the backdrop for the food table and little peanut packets. My sister made some fabulous desserts topped with adorable animal picks. And my talented mother just made an elephant. Yes, the cutest little elephant with polka dot ears that are subtle enough to be the perfect touch for a perfect day.

Can you tell which blondie is the in-law!? haha… my mother, grandma, Amanda and baby, myself and little sis Krista!

And here are a few more images from their gorgeous maternity shoot in July! To see more of the pictures done by Fine Edge Photography visit the blog post here. And to the little peanut –  I CAN’T WAIT TO MEET YOU!! love, your auntie
