Spring into Wedding (Baseball) Season

10 Apr

The beginning of April marks the beginning of warmer weather, spring cleaning, Easter, bridal showers, weddings AND baseball season. Yesterday was the Minnesota Twins Home Opener at Target Field in Minneapolis, which is the new (3rd season now) beautiful ball park that I and many other Minnesotans get to call “home field”. I was lucky enough to attend the game yesterday afternoon with my dad, brother and a family friend that has the amazing season tickets, and just to clarify he is now our favorite family friend until October 🙂 Despite the fact that the team played poorly and lost, the ball park always puts on a great event and never lives down to how awesome it really is… here is a pic I took during the national anthem to justify the gorgeous venue:

Target Field Opening Day 2012

I know it may seem silly to describe a ball park as “gorgeous” but I promise it is, and I am not the only one who thinks so. The past two years, several couples have had their wedding day events held at Target Field and no, it’s not tacky, but awesome! I know this because last summer I got the opportunity to work with Emily and Bengt on their custom wedding invitations inviting guests to their reception held in the Carew Atrium at Target Field. Emily wanted a fun look that would highlight her pink and navy color scheme and also give detailed instructions, navigating guests from the church ceremony to the stadium. She ended up going with the watermelon graphic poster layout because of its playful look, but we customized it to fit her colors and information so guests knew exactly what to expect for the big event!

I LOVE how the invites turned out and I think the navy and pink really pop against the pink metallic pocket envelope she chose. All stationery was printed on our metallic shimmer card stock to match the pocket. Take a look…

Aren’t they FUN?! Don’t worry Emily sent me some pictures from the big day. Photos taken by Guy Magno at Magno Photography (magnophotography.com) GORGEOUS!

Thanks again Emily and Bengt, so glad we were able to be a part of your big day!

I think the happy couple looked a little better than my brother and I did in our seats yesterday…

cheers, Gina
